Moving On Support Scheme

The MOVING ON SUPPORT SCHEME (M.O.S.S.) is a new scheme which has been developed and supported by a partnership of four voluntary sector organisations in Eden, who have recognised and highlighted the importance and need for a befriending service in the area. 

Developed jointly by Eden Mind, Age Concern Eden, Eden Community Alarms and Eden Carers the scheme is funded by Defra’s Rural Social and Community Programme.

• People using the service will be supported by well trained volunteers
   
• Relationships will be time-limited lasting between 3 and 12 months, dependent on the needs of the individual
   
• People using the scheme will set goals and be supported by volunteers to achieve these.
   
• The service offered is confidential and all volunteers must complete an enhanced Criminal Records Bureau (CRB) disclosure.
